Sticker Shock Over EMDR Intensive Therapy

These are really hard times for most people financially. We try to cut corners and budget as much as possible to continue providing for our families in the best way possible. We limit ourselves with spending, eating out, and so much more. All smart decisions, in the long run. However, one place you should not cut corners is your mental health.

Mental health is not something that should be taken lightly or skimped over because of financial reasons. Think of it as an investment in yourself. For your future. Your children, your marriage, and your relationships can all continue to thrive when you work on yourself in therapy.

Perhaps nothing comes as more of a surprise when you see the cost of EMDR Intensives. However, it's important to note that while it most certainly is not inexpensive, it has more benefits than disadvantages. Let's go over the sticker shock of EMDR Intensives and dispel some of this.

It's More Cost Effective In The Long Run

Are individual sessions less expensive? Absolutely, but let's look at the other side of the coin here. Individual sessions are less expensive than intensive. However, there is no telling how long traditional talk therapy sessions will end up taking. It could take over a year to really start showing results.

But when you are desperately needing relief because what you are going through is so debilitating and consuming on your life, that isn't always the best option. That's not to say that talk therapy isn't effective, but if the trauma or anxiety symptoms have completely overrun your life, you might not want to wait that long.

EMDR Intensives, while at a larger up-front cost, can and will end up saving money in the long-term because you won't have to have as many sessions as traditional therapy.

It Not Only Saves You Money But Time As Well

Traditional talk therapies and Intensives both take time. However, intensives are a better option for those who may not be able to attend weekly sessions for extended periods of time. Intensives are a great option for those who have a chunk of time they can fully dedicate to the process of therapy for a shorter period of time.

Intensives can be as short as 3 hours and as long as 8 hours. They can be scattered over a few day periods or over a week. This provides great flexibility to those who need quicker results and don't have the time in their schedule to fully dedicate to something long-term.

Results Are Seen Quicker Than Traditional Talk Therapy

This is perhaps the greatest reason why the sticker shock of EMDR Intensives shouldn't hold you up. There is no denying they cost more and are a financial commitment. However, the mental health benefits far outweigh the financial disadvantages.

Intensives provide quicker results in a shorter period of time. By now, you have probably thought, "I would do anything to find relief," and maybe you have cycled through online resources, self-help books, or traditional forms of therapy. Not having results when you just want to feel like yourself again is the most frustrating thing about being a human.

What does the chance of normalcy mean to you? Of having your life back? To fully enjoy al the positive things that life has to offer instead of focusing on the negative?

It's time to give yourself the chance to get all of that and more. My EMDR Intensives do not come with a small price tag but they do come with a large benefit. I understand that it's a huge commitment to make. If you want to find out more about EMDR Intensives and if they are right for you, I invite you to read my page about them.
